Who are PHD?

Vince And Elaine, the team behind phd, met in 1989 whilst working for the same salon group and have been together ever since.

They share a love of precision hairdressing and regard themselves as L'OREAL colour experts having worked closely with the brand for over 25 years.

The salon is a relaxed space with chilled music, free WiFi and the latest magazines.

The service is exceptional as they each work exclusively with one client at any one time so you will never feel rushed. You will have your stylist's undivided attention ensuring great results each visit.

What do you love most about being a hairstylist?                          Making my clients feel confident and beautiful by choosing the perfect cut and colour for them.

On your day off what do you do?
Running along the seafront followed by working on my side hustle.

Attending Sassoon Academy, London. Each time reinforces how important a precision haircut is.

What do you love most about being a hairstylist?
Creating strong, bold shapes on a short style and the referrals from people noticing my work.

On your day off what do you do?
Ride my scooter through the countryside down to the coast.

What do you love most about being a hairstylist?
The diverse conversation. I can start every client with the same question and it takes you down a different path every time. I’m always looking to learn new things and enjoy being proved wrong! Every client teaches me something new, I love that!

What mantra do you live by?
I have a few. Always be better. Buy it now! Things will look better in the morning. Don’t go to bed angry, and don’t worry about the things you can’t control.

What is your proudest achievement?
The last 11 years and everything my husband and I have created together.
